Now Is The Time For Your Replacement Fuseboard! - Allied Electrical Services

What Are The Benefits Of A Replacement Consumer Unit?

What's Involved In Replacing My Consumer Unit?

The first step is a free of charge site visit where we will do a survey of your existing consumer unit to assess if it actually needs replacing. Just because it may not comply with the latest Wiring Regulations doesn’t automatically mean that it’s unsafe or needs replacing. We’ll also check the earthing and general condition of the wiring in your home to make sure it’s in sufficiently good condition to accept the new consumer unit, and to allow us to certify the installation as safe once the new consumer unit is fitted.

Next we will discuss the various options open to you and any preferences you may have. Based on this we will then work out a fully itemised quote showing labour and materials. Unlike many other contractors, our quotes are just that, a fixed quote rather than an estimate, which magically goes up when the work is complete.

If you’re happy with the price and you’d like to proceed, then you can simply accept the quote with a single click on the email. We’ll then be in touch to arrange a convenient time to carry out the works.

When the works have been completed and you’re satisfied, we can issue you with the invoice and certification. Also, whilst we’re onsite you can conveniently make payment using cash, cheque, debit or credit card.

How Long Will The Works Take?

Including testing, a replacement consumer unit typically takes between two thirds of a day to a full day to complete, so we usually allow our electricians a full day in order to make a really tidy job of it.
